“L3Outdoors Feral Hog Removal Options”
L3Outdoors offers our customers two main forms of feral pig removal depending on what the customer wants or the size of the customer's property. For customers without livestock or close living neighbors we offer night vision/FlIR hunting with rifles at night. This is an effective way of removing feral hogs from properties without dense vegetation, but has limited success on properties with heavy vegetation or fully grown crops.
The main and most effective method we offer our customers is the use of one or two highly trained dogs that can find hogs in very dense vegetation using their nose. This allows us to find hogs that are hidden out of sight or have become wise to rifle hunting and trapping. Our dogs are trained not to chase or harm livestock, deer and exotics. They are also much safer option than risking a ricochet or pass through from a stray rifle bullet while hunting at night when it may be difficult to see what lies behind a target. We have also found in our 19 years of feral pig removal experience that the use of dogs is by far the most effective method for removing large numbers of feral hogs from densely vegetated properties.
Contracts and pricing
We only offer feral hog removal on properties 500 acres or bigger with the exception of urban areas such as golf courses and development areas. We offer full time and part time contracts for a minimum of one year and each property is priced on the size and scope of that property's feral hog problem. Rockport Texas and surrounding areas
For local properties under 500 acres in the Rockport area we offer trapping. We use a trap called the HoldAHawg snare trap. This is the most practical and effective method of trapping we have found. These snare traps are deer and by-catch safe with built in deer stops. Unlike other snare methods this is the only method we have found safe to animals other than the pigs they were intended for. The benefit of these snare traps is they work with or without bait, so even if coons or other animals eat all the bait the traps can still be effective because all the pig has to do is walk on the trap. This is a time consuming method that must be checked daily. The intensive nature of this system means we can only offer trapping in local areas.
